Political Class Passover

The story of the Israelites in, and exodus from, Egypt is one of the best known and timely stories from the Old Testament.  Although there are versions of and variations on the story, basically it is that Joseph (later renamed Israel) was sold into slavery in Egypt by his brothers.  Joseph rose to prominence and he and his people prospered for a time.  Eventually the Pharaoh enslaved the Israelites.  Later, Moses confronted the Pharaoh, entreating him to release the Israelites from slavery.  God visited various punishments on Egypt but still the Pharaoh refused.

Then the LORD said unto Moses, Go in unto Pharaoh, and tell him, Thus saith the LORD God of the Hebrews, Let my people go, that they may serve me.  Exodus 9:1

For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the LORD.  And the blood [of the lamb] shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt.  Exodus 12:12,13

The US Federal Government is the modern-day Pharaoh.  It, like the Pharaohs of Egypt, believes IT is God.  It enslaves its people, taking an ever-increasing share of what the people produce while itself producing nothing of value.  It seeks absolute power and strives to control every aspect of the lives of its people.  It imposes its sectarian religions of woke orthodoxy, climate change, gender fluidity, population control, and more.    It attempts to impose its will on the rest of the world.  America needs a modern-day Moses that can call forth a power that will defeat the political class that controls our government.

If on the night of Political Class Passover, every incumbent of every Federal government elected office, and the three most senior bureaucrats of every Department, Agency or Bureau simply disappeared, America would lose a few good people – very few.

The Old Testament is a bit harsh for our time.  I would prefer that these people be beamed up to Scotty, abducted by intergalactic aliens, seized by an irrepressible desire to quit their jobs, or simply disappear into thin air.  To the government, we say:

LET THE PEOPLE GO

That they may serve themselves and any god they alone choose.
